With most of the website development completed by the time I came to this project, my task and focus was on the back-end. I had to re-structure the poorly configured db, and optimize it so it could handle large volumes of data quickly and easily.
Re-designing the Database for this website involved redefining new entity relationships, normalizing the data, and then restructuring the output of the data so that it fitted well with the site.
With a user and review count in the 6 digit figure realm, and having to add new user data functionality and capacity, this was both a challenging and very rewarding experience.
