Farmhand Dealers
Farmhand Ltd are in the business of importing and supplying the Irish market with high end farm machinery and agricultural implements since 1962. With a network of over 40 dealers in Ireland, Farmhand wanted a website that would facilitate internal dealer-to-dealer transactions.
This is a complete ad posting e-commerce website. Each has their own secure account, where they can post farm machinery for trade, request a particular machine for a client, and communicate directly with the farmhand dealer network. The custom theme was designed and developed from the ground up, using Fireworks for the layout and wireframe, Photoshop for the imagery and feel, and then HTML, CSS, and PHP to build the site’s functionality. It also uses restful API services and jQuery drag and drop functionality in the admin section, to make managing, maintenance and the creation of pages on this website very easy to do.
This is the second project I’ve worked on with Farmhand Ltd, and I’ve been very fortunate to work with Stephen Scrivener on this project, who has a grounded and clear vision on the look and feel he wanted to achieve with this fundamental dealer-to-dealer e-commerce tool. Together, we’ve developed a large website that cleverly mixes good design, functionality, ease of use, and it’s already proven to be a fundamental tool for the dealer-to-dealer network of the Farmhand business.
